Laurent Gallon obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Toulouse’s University Paul Sabatier in december 1997. In september 1998, he joined the “Networks and Telecommunications” department of IUT des Pays de l’Adour, in University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour (UPPA). He is a member of the UPPA Computer Science Lab (LIUPPA).

His research initially focused on the modeling and qualitative and quantitative evaluation of computer security properties. In recent years, he has turned his attention to Education 4.0 in the university context (University 4.0), with a focus on educational robotics and telepresence robotics.

He is currently in charge of the French national Telescol project, which is assessing the impact of telepresence robotics on social links and learnings, in the context of the deployment of 4,000 robots for students absent from school for long periods for health reasons.
